Interior/Exterior Removing Warning Decals From Visors
Removing Warning Decals From Visors
Hi Everyone!
I just purchased a 2012 MCS Cabrio. Brought her home on Saturday after six long weeks of waiting. What is the best way to remove the warning stickers that are on both visors. I've found a few threads on this subject, but they seem to be pretty old.
Thanks for the help!

Visor Decal Removal
1. Remove visors from the MINI (pop off plastic plugs at hinge side and remove phillips screws)
2. Place on flat surface decal side up
3. Cover decals with 3-4 layers of small squares of Bounty ("The Quicker Picker Upper")
3. Poor just enough plain ol' cheap drugstore quality rubbing alcohol over the towels to soak thoroughly
4. Check in 30 minutes, if towels appear to be drying, add a little more alcohol to moisten.
5. After another 30 minutes, remove towels, and s-l-o-w-l-y peel the now rubbery decal off
6. Repeat for another soaking as above and rub gently to remove any residual adhesive residue if necessary.
7. Reinstall in MINI, and voila(!), clean visors.
Warning: Do not answer your door if men in dark suits are there, they are most likely United States Safety Administration agents coming to arrest you for altering federally mandated automobile equipment.

I did not remove the visors but followed the same basic process with success. I used denatured alcohol. I put a towel down under the visors just in case anything dripped off the visor.
I have used this process on various makes of cars with good success. Depending the the visor material/fabric a little residue may be left in the pores of fabric but still much better looking than a sticker.

Don't ask how I know this, but, ask your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/husband etc... if they have any "Skin So Soft" from Avon. This stuff works GREAT for removing sticky residue left from tape and stickers. WD-40 also works really good but I would be leary of using it on the visors.
