Rear cup-holder still functional?

I just put the OEM Armresat out of my '08 MCS and it went it fine. As far as the black metal legs they are between the seats and not really noticed. I like because it will folw up between the seats if it gets in the way.

I got this one for my 08 hatch. I think it's from an R53 but not sure. Tight fit but worked out great.

Just took these, if they are any good, any I loaded them correctly. The Yellow stick is a Flag I'm flagging today.

The downward angle is the only issue I've heard about.
I wouldnt consider the slant an "issue". when i got mine and installed it, there was a tilt, so i shimmed it to level. Drove around for a bit and found out I didnt like the way it felt when I was shifting, so I took out the shim. What a difference, the shifting felt a lot better and the armrest also did its job. Its strange, but the tilt works and I think it was designed like that on purpose even though it looks wrong.

no e-brake clearing issues? how "tall" is this unit? would you say the height puts it at level with the armrest in the door?
