Do second-gen shift ***** fit first-gen cars?

I don't think so, because I remember that Doug Whalen had to re-engineer the mounting collar on the "Shift Machine" ***** that he makes/sells when the R56 came out.

I seem to remember similar info..
gen1 pulls off/pushes on (i think) and gen 2 twists (or vise versa)

The both mount the same way however you would need an adapter to make the lever longer to fit a gen 2 **** on a gen 1 stick. Doug machined up an adapter and had a pic of it on here a while back.

If I remember correctly the adapter was only like $10-$15. Also the gen 2 ***** have a collar for the shift boot so you'd have to cut that off.
