What are the odds of a rear "splitter" like M7's front splitter reducing the grime that gets all over the back of our cars? If it attached to the rear valance and extended out back 3" or so, it seems like it might help redirect dirt. My guess it that it would have to extend beyond what looks good to really help. But if 3" worked, it might look cool and be functional. Carbon fiber, of course. JR

The MINI has the aerodynamics of a brick. There are vorticies coming off the top, bottom, and around the sides of the MINI. It's a very turbulent flow are around the hatch. That's why you see so much dirt being deposited. You are simply not going to be able to make a marked improvement in the cleanliness of the hatch area due to the basic shape of the MINI.

I tried it already, i'll try to find the pics later.
The only way you will be able to accomplish keeping the boot cleaner is to direct a constant flow of air over it, like rear spoiler/air deflectors on the S-10 Blazers of the mid to late '80s.

MAYBE THATS WHAT RANDY HAD IN MIND WITH THIS?
IT MUST HAVE SOME PURPOSE OR HE WOULD NOT HAVE DONE THIS EXTREME MOD.

The dirt on the hatch is a hatchback thing, my civic and mom's van do the same thing. Dirt all over the back of both those vehicles.

JCWitney has lots of them. I don't think they come for the MINI though...
