Thule Roof rack

I want to get the Thule roof rack for my car. I went to REI today and the brackets they suggest to mount is just are not going to work. I need some inside on this. Photos will be a great help. I did a search but didn't find exactly what i wanted.

Honestly, buy the OEM load bars that are specifically design and fabricated for the MINI roofline contour; it's a preferred system.
