Plastic Ring in Door Panels

Has anyone removed the plastic ring ? Does door panel have to be removed first ? Looking to remove my Piano Black Rings to change the color/texture.
Removed the same finish side left & right of the console..popped right out.
Ones on the doors look tougher.

Interior door trim removal?

I see no one replied to Flyer53's question. Maybe a new post will prompt some replies, I hope.

I too would like to know if these pieces (the curved plastic pieces that are "oval" shaped) are removable for a color change? I've seen the posts that show how to remove a door panel, but haven't seen any more info on further disassembly of the door panels themselves.

Just picked up a '13 Countryman S ALL4, True Blue/White with all black (or "Anthracite" if you will) interior. Interior really needs some pop, so want to change color on these pieces on each of the 4 doors to match True Blue.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

They don't seem like they'd come off, but I could never even get the door panel off. I ended up wrapping them with vinyl in place. From what the rivets feel like in the backside, I think they're a one-time install.

Any answer to how to get the interior rings off of the door panel, or are they permanently attached?
