The red piping does look good. Nicely chosen!

I don't get it!

Why would you cover those beautiful seats with any kind of cover? So the next owner can have an old car w/ new seats? The only time I would use seat covers is to cover up badly worn seats on an older car, although I have never even done that. When I buy a new car I want to enjoy everything that I paid for when I bought the car including looking at and sitting on those beautiful new seats. Seats now last a long time compared to the vinyl seats from 50 years ago. My '02 MCS has been though a couple owners and 88K miles and the seats still look great, only very minor wear on the drivers lumbar. I also have a '98 Buick that my son now drives that has over 130K on it and the seats are still very respectable, no rips or failed seams anywhere. So take the covers off and enjoy those beautiful seats you paid for.

Well, that's an interesting question, 36rodder. I did it because:
1. It keeps the seats cool in the summertime, especially as I tend to wear shorts a lot.
2. It keeps the seat safe from dog claws, spilled soda pop, etc.
3. It keeps the seats from fading or ripping.

The last car I had was a Nissan Sentra. I kept the seats covered, and they look great.. but so does the rest of the interior, so it all looks new. My hubby, on the other hand, tends not to cover his seats, and his truck's seats have tears where the fabric has been degraded by UV light, or has been caught by something on his clothes. They also get quite hot if parked for a while. It is most certainly a personal preference, but I didn't like the MINI seat 'leatherette' and much, much prefer the Wet Okoles. To each their own!

Joanie, your combination looks really sharp!
36rodder, we live in NY so we probably don't have as much problem with seats getting hot. I noticed a lot of people in hot climates use them probably makes a lot of sense.

Can anyone describe (or better yet, post pics) of how the WO seat covers address the seat back release levers? Do they just cover them up?

There's an opening for them.

Do the WO seat covers alleviate the firmness of the seat itself? How much more padding do they add? Need some lumbar relief too and wondered if they help with that at all too.

Thanks!

Check their website, I seem to recall that they offer lumbar support in some form. The seat covers in standard form do add a little padding, but not enough if you really need support, so see what they offer!

You're recalling correctly, Joanie - they offer lumbar and also seat heater options.

Here's a link for ya, ckirsch21k: http://www.wetokole.com/MINI-COOPER.html

I like the sunglasses holder.
These look like they would be great in my car.

My brother just put a set of WO's over his 2005 Ford F250 Punched Leather Buckets that are already ripping. Went for the black with gray piping. They look and feel woderful! Highly recommend if you have dogs or are the outdoors type. That gun tote is handy for others things besides guns too. They do offer an additional lower back support option.

I'm using black with Biritish flag and checkered strip SeatArmor towel covers that go over the headrest and just lay on top of my base model leathertte seat base and back (no wrap around or attachments). Got them for a couple reasons:

1) Our tri-color cocker spaniel rides shotgun and has dirty sharp toe nailed feet.
2) Like the WO's thery're cool when hot out and warm when cold out.
3) Always wearing short pants here in SoCal!
4) Can just lift them off and throw them into the washing machine to clean.

I'll add a pic when I get one for those that might be curious...

These aren't for everyone, but great if you have a dog. Basically a tailored beach towel that is machine washable. Quigly loves 'em!

You mean that his actual leather seats are ripping, not the Wet Okoles, right? Yes, they are very nice. They also offer carbon fiber seat warmers that plug into your cig lighter. We're ordering that for our son's Jeep, since we have discovered just how cold it is with the doors off and the top down!

wonder if those heated seat covers can be hard wired in with an on/off switch?

Yes Joanie, the original Found On Road Dead punched leather only lasted 6-7 years. The seats look like brand new with the Wet Okoles that match yours, only the piping is gray. BEAUTIFUL!

I'm guessing they must be. How else would you operate them?

They appear to plug into the 12v connector

I have these too!
They don't stay in place, but they are serviceable.
If I bought the WOs I would probably put these over them to protect them.
I also have a sleazy cheap quilted rubber backed thing that covers the bench seats in the back, but don't recall where I got it.
It is really ugly but I was so grateful to have it when my elderly dog was traveling with me and had a violent adverse reaction to her arthritis meds.
I bought it for protection against dog hair and toe nails...but, WOW!
Straight into the washing machine and good to go again.

That's a happy looking motoring pup you've got there.

Curious if anyone here was able to find a way to hard wire their WO heated seat switch.

I just purchased a set of long-sought-after Wet Okoles (black with red piping) off eBay tonight that come with lumbar support and the heat option. I can't imagine needing the heated seats too often here in SoCal but I do know that a cigarette lighter plug is a non-option for me.
