Yet another Plastidip addict

Weather has warmed up and I have finally started my Plastidipping.

I have completed my hood scoop, headlight rings and gas cap.

Next is my tail light rings and grill surround. Planning and getting the beltline tape as well.

Funny, I just did this to my gas cap today .. I had no idea Plastidip came in spray form until just a few days ago. Pretty cool stuff!

I'm thinking I'll do some other pieces pretty soon.. tired of chrome.

Finished my grill surround and tail light rings. Added a vinyl wrap to my a-panels. Still need to do my wheels and belt line.

How do you put it on so smoothly? I did plastidip on my gascap and my taillight rings and they had some tiny bubbles that popped and left tiny craters, it looks nothing like those. On a side note, I have an 07 silver mcs and I want to do my hoodscoop. How hard was it?

First, you've got to make sure the parts are clean. Lots of people recommend lots of different ways to apply, but I started with 2 very light coats and then 2 heavy coats. Looks great!

As for your hood scoop, it's very easy. Same technique applies. Mine did not come out as smooth as my other parts, but it looks really good.

For me, living in a dry climate(Dallas, Texas-Hottest, Driest Summer on Record) prevented the humidity that typically screws it up......gotta do it in a dry environment, let it dry completely between coats. Also goota ake sure surface is clean, windex first then rubbing alcohol. Spray a few inches from surface in smooth straight movements.
......

Looks great. I prepped mine with a spray of simple green and wiped down with a clean cloth.
