I don't like stripes!

I know I may be going against all MINI culture everywhere, but I really don't like these flat stripes.

I'm a man who appreciates my cars almost as much as my women and I think the Gen2's have GREAT curves. And that's something I can appreciate, a nice, clean car with some beautiful lines and a nice shine. Something that doesn't deserve to be covered up like a supermodel in the winter

I don't mean to offend just voicing my opinion and I'm sure I'll catch some hell for it.

But here's a challenge for you: if you have some truly unique stripes (that respect the lines of the car!) .... well then, SHOW ME!

I don't know a better example of the curves and lines I'm referring to then this picture of Annette's Mozart:

Sorry for borrowing this picture Annette but I love it!

Personally I agree with you but my agreement is limited to the 2nd Gen. I think they look great without stripes. I think the R50/R53 look naked without them.

You're absolutely right... and I absolutely thought I posted this in the Second Gen forums!

Maybe a mod can help me out and move this to where I thought I put it!

To each his own - that's why these cars are so customizable. Personally, I think they look naked without stripes. The R53 generation had much better curves on the bonnet than the R55-R56 series and still looked naked to me without stripes. I like the double stripes down the middle of the bonnet on the the R55-R56 series. Our Clubman has these and I think they look terrific.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Mozart will be getting some stripes at the Dragon.
I do like the more aggressive look of the '11 R56. I will still always prefer the R53 "face", but the facelift they did on the '11 made me go ahead with buying Mozart. I really didn't notice the bump in the bonnet until I was at Way's the other day. He was going over Mozart to get a better look at the changes in the '11 and pointed it out to me.

In my opinion, anything after theR50/53 is so butt ugly in the front end, you'd never want anything that would draw attention to that bulbous goofy eyed nose!! Just my opinion.

I read your initial post really quickly and selectively came away with:

"...I'm a man who appreciates...women...GREAT curves...that's something I can appreciate...beautiful lines..doesn't deserve to be covered up...supermodel...I don't know a better example...picture of Annette..."

Ooo lah lah!

(BTW, I have and like the classic bonnet stripes -- they just seem so uniquely MINI.)

Perhaps your dislike for stripes is because of your occupation.
I remember that the more stripes that you had was a good thing.
Could be that you have a dislike of stripes because you lack a certin number of stripes yourself?
I believe you may have a mental illness of "Lackanumstripless".
I would seek medical attention as soon as possible or ASAP.
Perhaps you may want to be naked.
That syndrome is called a "nudist".

I think it is a person choice. Me I chose body color stripes on my Hyper Blu/White MINI.

I personally do not like the bonnet stripes at all, but love the sports stripes. It's all just a matter of personal preference though.

No stripes here, and I like it that way. Tried some sport stripes once on the hood, but about a month later I realized I was just jumping on a band wagon, so off they came.

You just need to find them done right - painted on preferrably.

I have had bonnet & sport stripes in the past... Been stripe-less for a year now and have no regrets.

NavyNUKE,

Maybe you should start an "Official Stripeless Club?"

I didn't get stripes with my Clubman. But I'm thinking about it. When I first started looking, I didn't care for them. But I saw some that was pretty cool. I figure I'm in no rush, I'll drive it around for a bit and see what I feel like. Luckily, Vinyl Styles is about 35 minutes drive from me.
