Leather dash?

I love the look of the JCW leather dash. Is anyone making an aftermarket one that might be less expensive and more available than the factory option?

Love it. Out of curiosity, would people be interested in a semi-affordable aftermarket version of this?

I was tempted to buy swaths of leather from an upholsterer and then use some kind of fabric glue, but that might end up looking terrible if I did it myself.

Mikey at (if I remember right) newministuff.com over in england has some connections with the oem makers of most of the leather items (he had custom leather seatcovers from the oem maker for a bit the made regular seats look like factory leather)....I think he might be able to get the same as jcw dash made in something other than leather...by the same place as the jcw (no logo I bet)....might be signafigantly cheaper than Leather....maybe if a few folks showed interest, he could have a few made....
Nothing beats leather, but some of best leather like imitations are pretty good....

I've seen some for sale on Ebay. But they look like premade pieces that you glue to your dash. Not sure of the quality. If I could find a cheap extra dash around here, I'd give it a shot. The leather kit is coming from England and (I believe) was going for $100.

I just saw the most beautiful interior for any MINI

I had an oil change and injector clean today at Mini Yaletown in Vancouver.

I know Alex there and he wanted to know if I was interested in his new interior. I was. He showed me. Holy Crap. I mean HOLY CRAP!

All gorgeous custom leather!! Alex has a BRG JCW R53 and if its an available accessory he has it. This has got to be the most beautiful interior of any car I have ever seen. RR included. Every surface but the windows is leather. Smells like a saddlery. I was speechless. He was grinning. Its green.

He says he is now afraid to go out and drive it. Its basically a showcar now.

Apparently a test for a new custom package available to the public. If it was red and black I would be very tempted. I guessed at the price and was off by a factor of three. I am still tempted.

Of course some people will spend more on the stereo. Fools.

Forget the engine upgrades this is special.

Hey Alex if you are on this site post pics.

I saw his car too but only through the window. It looked gorgeous! Do you mind what price he mentioned? I need my seats re-ulpholstered.

Is this really true that the JCW leather dash is no longer available?

^ Yes all the R53 JCW accessories are no longer produced, some stock is still floating around but the leather dashes are rare as hens teeth

If you have to ask you can't afford it. Well maybe. The rumor is 10K for the full meal deal. but everything but the carpets used to be a cow. Maybe seats only would be less.
