Coco mats for MINI

I got several positive responses when I posted the above pic at the begining of this month. These mats come from www.cocomats.com
They also make sisal mats which are a tighter weave.

Prices are $139.95 for a 2 piece set and $199.95 for the 4 piece set. Shipping is $15.50 in the 48 states.
I just got my trunk mat and it was $75.00 plus shipping.

I posted this since you can not find out the prices until you order since these are custom fitted mats. If you are worried about your car's weight, don't buy these mars. They are heavy and heavy duty.

I do not have any interest in Cocomats.com, financial or otherwise. Its just nice to have a top quality item available and made in the USA.

Yep, I had a set in my '06 for 4+ years and they held up very well. I just picked up my '11 MCS yesterday and the dealer threw in some rubber mats. They are very nice but they show every spec of everything! The coco mats looked nice and neat all the time, just hid the dirt better somehow. I will keep the rubber mats for the rainy spring, but will be ordering some coco mats pretty soon.

I have used these mats in my cars for years (40). I have never had to replace or return for poor quality, really improves the look of your interior.Q

Yes, gray w/ light gray dots. #83 I think. The first pic of the front mats best represents the color. Car was in garage with door open when I shot the trunk mat. The shade and my pic adjustment screwed up the color.

Bump -- for those with cocomats...

how do they do with water/wet mud/all the dirty stuff you can get sometimes? I use the rubber ones, cooper s logo -- I like to think that heavy duty rubber is better all year round, but indeed at times you get that dried-mud stain that has you constantly wash them...

how can cocomats be washed? and are they intended to be taken care of often or just you let them get dirty and they last years?

Ordered a set last night, black with blue dots to match the Laser Blue.

How long has it taken you guys to receive them after ordering?

Anyone know how they hold up in wet climates like Seattle.... Maybe I should still run rubber mats in the winter, for the constant wet and occasional snow.....

Took about a week as I recall to receive mine on several occasions.. maybe slightly longer.

Can't help you with the wet climate question.. we are hovering at about 1" YTD rainfall here in the desert, and that's not far below normal!

That's fast for made-to-order mats. I emailed thier customer service just now asking the wet question - will post what they say.

Got his real nice reply from the VP already - He's a MINI owner...

Hi Ric,

Thanks for writing in and for your order! I have confirmed receipt of your funds and your order for your MINI Cooper.

I actually just got back from MINI's on the Dragon up in Fontana Dam, NC for the East Coasts largest MINI meeting. About 600 MINI's and 1000 people! I have a Clubman S so I KNOW you will love these mats as well!

As far as winter use, it really comes down to your preference. Our Coco's can take a beating and are fine with rain and occasional salt/snow. You shouldn't have any problems however if they ever get completely drenched you may want to dry them out a bit before putting back in your car..........

Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Regards,

I live in rainy Puget Sound and have had five sets of cocomats from cocomats.com in our stable.

I LOVE them. Water has never once seeped through, nor do they ever even actually feel wet. I take them out and whap them a bit or sweep them to get dirt off. But, they don't even show the dirt!

The rubber foot mat is easy to wipe down with a wet microfiber. I don't use any product on the rubber foot mat as I tried it once and it was slippery

You will just love them up here in the NW.

Be careful with Sisal Mats if you live in a rainy climate. Sisal is a natural material and VERY subject to attracting mold and mildew. If they get wet and don't dry quickly, they will mold.

These are coconut husk fiber. Although they also offer sisle.

This MINI enjoys a heated garage and no commuting, so that will help. But most def will save the OEM rubber mats in case they are needed again.

Add me to the list of very satisfied www.coconuts.com customers. I have the Tuscan beige interior and have the black with natural colored dots. Perfect match and these just don't show dirt at all. Very low maintenance. Great company!!

Mine should be here Monday according to tracking. I can't wait, I hate the rubber mats from MINI, they look filthy all the time. I loved the feel of the cocomats in my '06, especially when I drive barefoot(around our property, usually).

Yea, Annette. One of the many things I love about the coco mats is they never look dirty. Just a quick wipe down of the heel mat, and beauty is restored.

claud: Thanks for starting this thread. I used to have coco mats in my VW's and 356 Porsche's "back in the day" but had forgotten how nice they are. Your post brought back the great memories so I ordered black w/red dots to go with my black and rooster red trimmed interior. Looks great and I know from the old days they will never look dirty. Wonderful quality and service, thanks for the link to http://www.cocomats.com/ great vendor.

Some of youse guys should now have your mats. Let's see some pics and post up your impressions. I absolutely love mine, and have had them in my last 4 cars.

Had ours for a couple weeks now - very nice looking - very heavy - very ood quality. The drivers side does creep forward from the rear most possible position about 3/4" before it stops. Guess I can live with that, but thought they would stay put from testimonials on NAM and the statement on CocoMats website:

8. Will your Cocomats bunch up or slide?
NO! We adhere our coco matting material to a 1/8" natural rubber-nibbed bottom. This keeps the mats from sliding and from bunching up.
