What up everyone,
i was thinking about taking all the chrome except door handles and little accents (around the lights etc.) and painting them black, by all the chrome i basically mean the bumpers on the front and back.
I drive a pure silver MC with a black roof and pretty much everything on my cooper is either black or silver on the outside, and i feel like the chrome is somewhat out of place (ive gotten rid of the chrome grill too).
Now im asking for your opinion...should i go for it? I have a friend down here who can do it, im just asking style-wise.

any opinions welcome (please)

That is a dealer option, so I don't think it would be too far fetched. Go for it!

 

koolmini is undergoing a similar transition from chrome to black accents. He has powdercoated his gas cap and is waiting for the paint to cure on his black door handles. It looks fantastic now, and as he gets the rest of the black parts installed, it is going to be a real knock-out.

I'd PM him for advice on how to best convert chrome to black as he has gone both the powercoating and painting strategies depending on the particular part in question.

I'd do it....take a look at koolmini's car and you'll agree how nice it looks. I've got an all black mini.....I'd like to paint my door handles and boot hatch handle, too! I've done away with the chrome grill in the front and replaced with the aero grilles....also painted the lower radiator grille black.
