here is the link for the pic from the minimania site: http://new.minimania.com/web/Item/NMI4011/InvDetail.cfm

the armrest was a cinch to install...just three screws into the back cupholder and voila, it is readied to use. the storage area is lined with felt. looks very classy and seems very oem. the kit also includes three stick-on felts, one for covering up the bottom of the cupholder where the screws go and the other two felts are for the side of each seatbelt buckle that would come into contact with the armrest if one were to move the seat so far back.

for those with panther leatherette, the charcoal armrest matches the interior perfectly. the base comes in either black or silver.

I also have this arm rest and it is nice to have the small storage area. After sliding it forward, it would be nice if the arm rest was just a bit longer. It is still nice to have and much less expensive than other arm rests that don't offer storage.

Yeah very nice. Now when I install this where do I put my morning coffee?

Don't get me wrong, I WANT the armrest, but I NEED my coffee.

i guess you use the rear cupholder for your coffee? mine came with a swing-out cupholder in the front console.

I've got this armrest and something I did before I got my MINI coffee mugs was to use a clamp-on cupholder, the kind available in any auto parts store or section. The ones w/ low profile screw-on clamp mechanisms will clamp to the metal backpanel of the storage part of the armrest, and I've got a charcoal grey one which matches the interior very well. It really looks almost like it could have been part of the car and it keeps the sliding part of the armrest extended a bit so that's it's in a more natural position.

when you have the armrest closed, does your elbow hit the armrest
at all when you shift? I had this problem on my wrx which came with the
armrest option so traded a guy with the factory one (was a $109 options!

When closed, my elbow comes nowhere near this armrest while shifting. But, I'm sure that depends on how long your arms are and the position at which you keep your seat.
