My dealer did not install the two JCW badges on my MCS. The rear one is no problem -- just use the included double-sticky tape and put it where you want it on the rear boot hatch.

But the front badge comes with nuts/bolts and a backing plate and is supposed to be bolted through two drilled holes in the lower black plastic grille on the driver's side of the car. I'm not sure how to get behind that grille. When I put the car up on ramps, it looks like there are a lot of screws all along the front lower valance. Do they ALL neeed to come off, I wonder, to get access behind the lower black grille ? ? ?

Any helpful ideas, anyone ? ? ? Thank You !

Joe

you have to remove the entire front valance; not so bad...it really only takes ten minutes.

read the first part of this link:

Joe, ignore all of that other stuff you find there. What you have is the only how-to on how to remove the front bumper cover. Your timing was perfect!!! Enjoy.

Why not just get the dealer to install the front badge like you paid them to do in the first place?
They need to complete the installation to your satisfaction- don't they look at their work?
Aren't the pieces left over once the job is done? Do they just blindly stare at the parts and give the car back to the customer? Are there no instructions on how to do the "full" kit install?

I guess if you really want to enjoy doing it yourself then Have fun.

Thanks for your thought, Minihune - I have many times enjoyed your always helpful comments.

However, my dealer is an hour and a half away. I was hoping not to have to visit them, if possible, until the first scheduled maintenance. Although I'm no mechanic, I do have a floor jack, car ramps and some tools. If a job isn't too difficult I don't mind doing it myself. I already had decided I'd do an extra oil & filter change myself in between the regularly scheduled ones. Since taking delivery of my MCS last Saturday I've installed the Euro Parcel Shelf, the Fog/Brake Light Mod Kit and even an annunciator to make my third brake light flash rapidly whenever I step on the brakes. (Between these last two mods, I'm really seen from behind now ops
