Plasti-dip ready?

How soon after the 4th coat has dried is it safe to either wash the car or to drive off in the rain? Need to plan out the day and allow time to enjoy the weekend.

Come to think of it, maybe it's AFTER the clearcoat goes on and how soon to expose the newly painted to water of any kind. Assuming a good 2 hour dry time in between coats, using a halogen lamp and a small fan blowing at low volume about 6' from the car.

Actually working on a friend's car in our garage so just wanted to make sure it's safe in the wet forecast we're having, unlike the summertime.

There really is no need to clear coat the plasti-dip. As for drying times, just look at the can. If you need to wash the car, wash it before you do the plasti-dip job. I'm sure the plasti-dip will be safe from any rain if you let it dry for a couple hours.

As far as PlastiDip goes, you can do like 10 mins between coats and drive as soon as you put it back on (an hour or so). Stuff is QUICK to dry.

Now clearcoat (which i heard helps the looks) youll have to go by the can... Could take a lot longer

How many coats do you folks use on your plasti-dip? Let's say for chrome?

I think I used 4 light coats on mine. Basically just do multiple light coats and you'll be good. The first coat should be very light so that it's able to adhere to the chrome before applying further coats. It's easy as Plasti-dip is very forgiving.

I have done a light one then a heavier one, and lastly another mildly heavy one. IMO you need to get it layred up well so that there is enough at the more fragile edge points
