Heated Seats on a 2004 R50?

I have a stock 2004 Mini Cooper (non s). I'm looking to get the retro fit kit -OR- go the after market route. I've done a lot of research trying to figure out the best way. Right now my mini has a black, brown, and yellow connector underneath the seat. Are one those potentially a connector to heat pads in my seats? I'm just trying to figure out if my car has those pads already in the seats or not (they are leather). Any help would be much appreciated.

1. I have the mini official .pdf that shows OEM heated seats install. (it is of little help determining if i have those pads or not)

HELP PLEASE!!

AFAIK you don't have the heating elements if you don't have the heat seater buttons in between the seats. The OEM covers have special pockets for the elements. Not sure if the wiring harnesses are specific or not.

Don't know if your seat is wired. I didn't think they were unless you have the option. I had a local auto interior place install heated seats last year. The switches look good, and it is warmer than the factory heated seats in my other MINI.

Ernesto, what units did you purchase for your seats? I've pretty much accepted that I have to purchase the aftermarket seats. I'm just trying to figure what units are the best. Where did you get the OEM switch though for yours?

The installer actually took the measurements, purchased and installed the kit. I believe THIS was the company but I am not positive.. NOTE they state on the website that MINIS are difficult to do, so be careful if you are doing it on your own.

I had 3 choices, a single on/off, dual heat or three level heat. I went with the middle choice.

The switches are rockers with 2 led lights for low and high, they are not the OEM push style, but I asked them to install the switch in the OEM location.

Total cost for me was about $350/seat installed, tax and everything. It hurt paying for it (since I cheap-ed out and didn't originally order them), but they did a fantastic job and I am really glad I have them.

I won't buy another car without heated seats again..
