I just got a quote from an auto body shop who called a mini dealer and they told me it would cost $1795 for the entire r56 jcw aero kit.

I was considering just buying the jcw front bumper with brake ducts and the skirt from outmotoring.com It's still going to cost me $799 for the skirt and $647 for the front bumper. I can get these without tax and free shipping from this site.I'm not sure what I want to do.

I also spoke to the same auto body shop and they told me they can paint and install the front bumper and install it for $346 and paint and install the skirt for $180 and the back bumper for $335. I think the pricing seems great. But, I wasn't sure. I live in socal and I don't know if this is considered great pricing.

Love to know, I want to get it done asap. I check the NAM forum for pricing and I saw there was some pricing, but I wanted to know if anyone got a good pricing in the last year or two for the kit and maybe the best place to get it.
Thanks!

Depending on shipping to Cali, you might try minigenuineparts.co.uk... Just checked, and with the current conversion rate the complete kit factory painted would run $2051 shipped to TX. By all reports if you're willing to take your time the install isn't that difficult. I'm hoping to go that route, but may not get to if they stop offering the kit in Dark Silver (since it's gone for 2011).

Another suggestion is to call up a dealer and ask them about the new JCW aerokit. It's the same kit but now they come painted from the factory. Even though I own two bodyshops, I just ordered a JCW aerokit for my mother's mini she's getting.

I did it because it came painted and I didn't have to deal with it. I think it was about 1800-2000 for the entire kit already painted.

Just a suggestion.

I'm going to call the dealer and if that doesn't work I'm going to contact minigenuineparts. Gruinebox I love your color. I wanted that color, but I bought mine used.

Mark,
the color combination and the mods you made are awesome. I'm jealous.
thanks for the replies.

Thanks... I can't wait to get my hands on my mother's car. I'm going to paint the headlight trim rings, grille and taillight trim pepper white. She has a white roof. With black beltline (and chrome rims ugh) (I may leave the beltline chrome if she goes through with the chrome rims.

And since I redesigned my front end this weekend (w r e c k e d) I'm going to fix it, sell it and buy a chili red, I can't wait to paint the trim on it.

Let us know what you end up getting.

As far as ordering parts, if you have to order parts, morristown mini in NJ seems to have the best prices for the consumer. I often order parts there and even with shipping to NC, it's often cheaper than what I get with my bodyshop discount.

Interesting... Do you know if they're going to be available in discontinued colors as well as current?

No, I don't know exactly which colors are available but I do know it's a limited amount. (perhaps the most popular colors only? Not sure)

Thanks for all the replies.
I'm getting my jcw aero kit from a local body shop Tho's Auto Collision in Westminster, CA. I called up bunch of mini dealers and found out Crevier was the cheapest, they quoted me $1999 for the entire kit with the brake duct. I spoke to Loan (Tho's Auto Collision) and asked her if she could get wholesale pricing. And so She called and I'm getting it for $1905 + tax. And they are also installing the entire kit for $200. Great pricing and definitely one of the best customer service I got from a body shop.
If you are considering getting the jcw kit in SoCal, then contact Tho's Auto Collision. I'm getting it done this Wed.
I will give you an update this weekend after I get it done.
After that I need rims.

You may want to double check all that...

I guess since it's looking like my car is a total, I called the dealership that my bodyshops deal with yesterday.

They told me list was 1795 (my cost was under 1500) but the point is, even at list price, that's 200 bucks less than Crevier quoted you.

Of course you'd have shipping but my point is they should at least match list price with another dealership.

I called up morrisstown mini
They quoted me $1507 for the entire kit, but unpainted and they told me they don't have it the painted bumper in stock. The parts guy told me that it would cost about $200 to ship it out and if I wanted painted it's probably going to cost another $400.
Orangecrush,
I really appreciate letting me know, I think I'm going to go ahead and purchase it.

That's cool, I completely understand... I just wanted to make sure you knew all your options.

Just to reiterate... the JCW kit I bought for my mom in FL COMES ALREADY PAINTED in pepper white.

Yes, pictures please. I remember when I wanted a JCW aero kit completely painted in Chilli Red from Pentagon Car Sales in Germany. The dealer was still experimenting with local german body shops. The initial ones looked good, but then started to orange peel after a while. Not that I wish that on you at all, just remembering what scared me away from getting it done. I am waiting for the right time and it sounds like getting the kit painted from the dealer/factory is a good way to go.

But, I'm still happy. I think the bumper being plastic, it has a different shade. I don't think anyone will notice unless I tell them.

Do you guys suggest getting rear fog lights. My rear bumper doesn't have the rear reflectors?

rear bumpers don't have rear reflectors... unless you're talking about those red strips on either side of the back wheel.
