Love this mod, I live in grey, salty Cleveland, I don't miss looking back and seeing a salt covered window no matter how many times I used that wiper. Removing the rear view mirror also made me care less.

Awesome! Did you do anything to enforce the watertight seal or does the plug do the job?

The plug with the silicone do a great job. I haven't had a single leak and mine gas been done for about two years.

Saw that a lot of my MINI friends have their rear wipers deleted. A couple of them had some pretty nice deletes; one was a brushed titanium hexagon (or octagon? can't remember) that was custom-made.

I think it looks cleaner without it (obviously) but I don't really have a problem with my rear wiper. I actually use it pretty much any time I have the front wipers on.

I was told that not using the rear wipers would prevent rust by not tossing so much water onto the hatch. Is there any truth to that?

So, I went to Lowes and bought the stuff for the rear wiper delete. I removed the nub from the base of the wiper arm, but the wiper will not come off of the stud so that I can remove the motor from the inside and complete the mod. Can someone tell me what I am missing in order to get the wiper arm removed from the rear window?

PLEASE HELP!!!

most wipers have a clip that locks when the wiper is down. You need to fold the wiper up(as if you were cleaning underneith it or changing a blade) to unlock it from the shaft it's on. That would be my guess.

Removing the rear Wiper

Yes, the wiper is hard to remove from the motor, spray some WD40 on the connection and wait. My wiper was a pain to remove.

(and if i remember correctly, my wiper arm took a bit of playing with to get it removed from the shaft also.)

Anyway to find out new SKU Numbers for these 2 Items (Plug and Fastner). Lowes no longer lists them under this price and would love to do this to my Mini.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Huey, I'm looking to do this, too. Hope it's not too late, but I did a general title search on Lowes and this is what I came back with:

GM trim plug: http://www.lowes.com/Search=gm+autom...price|0&page=1

1" plastic plug: http://www.lowes.com/Search=1%22+pla...ic+hole+plug#!

Other than that, I'm not sure how much help that'll be since the GM plug especially is about five different sizes. But I hope it helps. I'm currently in the process of figuring this out as well.

If you already figured it out, would you mind PM-ing me or replying to this post please? I'd be super appreciative, thanks.
