Why so few side scuttle/marker options?

I've always thoughts customizing the side scuttles on the latest generation MINI is a great idea but I'm surprised that there are so few good options. I haven't found anyone besides MINI making any good high quality ones. And MINI's options are limited - especially for a pepper white colored car. Most of MINI's have pure white in them that looks out of place against a pepper white car. And the ones without color (the standard black Cooper one, that all chrome one and the honeycomb one) just aren't really my taste.

Maybe the 2011 refresh will spice things up.

Anyone else feel the same? Any vendors out there with plans for something new?

The Cooper will get this style:

From vendors, I haven't seen much more than vinyl wraps.

+1....wish there was something cool. It seems like such an easy mod and shouldn't be terribly expensive but like you I don't like the options that I've seen.

VIP makes some decent looking ones. I like them. They're about 3/4 down their page:

I wish there was an option for a clear sided scuttle holder so you could create your own designs and swap them out as you see fit. The folks that create and sell badges know the appeal to this idea

The JCW scuttle is something like that. It is a holder and they sell different inserts that fit into it (carbon fiber, hex grill, Union Jack). Custom inserts should be easily possible.

I would love to have a side scuttle delete but, I know it would involve the whole fender. Oh well.

Last year I had a bunch of body work done from hail dents and I was so tempted to get that done, but I know it would have cost a ton. If someone made CF fenders without the scuttles I'd buy them in a second.
