Interior/Exterior Joey mod question

Joey mod question
To All-
I have an '09 R56 cooper S and am trying to figure out how to do the joey mod to my headlights. The catch is that I don't have the LED lights, but I am still trying to acheive the same look. I could just buy them from the dealer but they're $450 a pop- not trying to spend that much money on this project. If there is anyone out there that has done this mod on the non-LED's let me know if you have any tips on the process, or if I should just follow the DIY's for the LED Joey Mod.
