Interior/Exterior roll cage
Hitting your head on the cage in an accident? The reason I ask is many people install cages in street driven cars. Like the red MINI with yellow rims. Its fully caged and street driven...
I know it has always been debated as to do it or not. However if one was to do it on a street car im sure the air bags would have to come out correct?
For added saftey however, would the proper seats with side head protection along with the cage being padded, and a 4 pr 5 point harness make it at least safer in the instance of hitting your head?

Roll cages are designed to be used with proper racing seats, harnesses, and helmets. This isn't really "debated."
Running them on the street is stupid and unsafe, regardless of whether other people do it or not.
A back-half roll bar is fine, but don't do a full cage.

You wouldn't want to run a seat with the side head protection on a street car because it will block all of your view out and to the side of you. That being said I know quite a few people that are running the half cages in their MINI's without any issues.
And one of them was recently rolled on the freeway and neither the driver or the passenger hit their heads on the cage. So everyone can calm down a little now. I'd totally do it if I didn't have to cut the back plastic up or take it out.

^Is there a good half cage on the market? I love the idea of setting it up similar to the 911GT3 RS.
Half an interior, and half ready to race is my plan.
I do a lot of track days, and like everyone said, a full cage does become a risk in a street car. A Jeep cage as mentioned, is not nearly as close to your head as a scca spec full cage.
Also there are a lot of race buckets that have head bolsters with cut outs that allow for more vision.
