Solid Color Dash Trim Kit

Does anyone make quality solid color dash kits out there? I've seen a couple on eBay, but honestly I don't trust them. I want to make sure the color matches my car and that they look as high a quality as the ones done by members here. This of course would be on a first gen Mini S.

Any advice?

Thanks everyone.

I may be wrong, but I don't think anyone makes a colored dash kit. I think you would have to take out your panels or buy replacements and paint them/have them painted by a body shop to get the car color match.

I think the easiest and most effective way would be to buy some colored vinyl and wrap it yourself. Or paint it.

Well they have vinyl kits online on eBay but I didn't know if they were any good or not. I noticed other yellow minis here with yellow dash boards and didn't know what route they chose: vinyl or paint.

I know it's not much help, but a year or two ago, I think someone did a DIY thread on this topic. Try the search function on the upper right to find it.

Solid Color Dash Trim on Amazon

Check out Amazon and search Automotive MINI Cooper Accessories. You'll find a company that makes them for GEN 1 MINI's and say's they will match factory color. Wish I could find one that does GEN 2.

Dash Kits are garbage.

Paint your dash, have your dash painted, wrap your dash or have it wrapped but don't use the stick on dash kits! The one for the 5 piece dash is HORRIBLE! I know that there have been major advancements in double sided tape but it will peel off in the sun and warm weather. Also have you seen one of these up close? They are not cool.

Your dash is made of ABS and it will sand and take paint VERY well and it will be custom! There is nothing custom about taping something to your dash. Also, you can do the door rings and whatever else you feel like doing.

Forget the tape, go with paint or a vinyl wrap!

Mini Motoring Graphics is the place that the Mini dealers get their stuff done. The dash wraps are reasonably priced ($30) but they don't have solid color wraps. But they do have 2 gen mini wraps.

Edit: They will soon have a design your own wrap. And you can add your own solid colors

Thanks, I'll check them out.
I'm also interested in the painting but I've done many laptops and PC cases with different types of vinyl and they get really abused without any problems. Typing on one now as a mater of fact and it's over a year old and still looks like it's made of carbon fiber. Nice thing about vinyl is that if you don't like it or want a change, just rip it off and start over.

Visited their site and I had been there before but they don't have the solid color dash kit I'm looking for yet. Looks like I may be doing my own sometime in the future. Not in any real rush.

If it was an '05 or '06, it might have been an OEM dash. Body color was a factory option for the 3 piece dash.

Does anyone know where I can get a CHROME dash kit? I saw one on ebay, and I missed out on it...I haven't been able to find one since!

Mini Mania used to sell one. Here is an example of the old ad:

Bottom of page right.
Who knows...maybe if you call them they'll have one.
