Figured I'd let the community know, I removed the sunroof glass from my car today to weigh it. The moveable piece weighs a total of 15lbs.

 

Good info. A long time ago I read someplace the whole frame and glass combined was maybe 23 lbs ?

Are you filling in the area with a panel of CF ?

 

I've got one out of a car so I'll weight the complete thing on Monday and see.

Just weighted it and with glass and motor the assembly was 54lbs.

 

That sounds about right, probably 12-15lbs for the rear glass...then another 24-27lbs between the frame and motor.

I'm not doing anything with mine, unless somebody else makes an easy replacement for say the $700 range I probably wont bother. I just wanted to see how heavy the glass itself was...and its not heavy enough for me to care.

There was a member who had replaced the entire sun roof section with a carbon fiber panel. Looked great too.
