Carbon Fiber dash for 06 R50

I really like the high gloss look of the JCW Carbon Fiber dash.
All the CF stuff I've seen is over $1000 for the dash alone.
I finally found someone who could do a simple overlay using real CF and resin.
I just had my dash and steering wheel inserts done for less than $300 total.

Jim Jones at info@roguese7ens.com did a fantastic job. Quick turnaround and great quality. The parts came out great.
His web site is http://roguese7ens.com/index.html

Next I'm going to tackle the door panel ovals.

Very nice. Sure beats the price for the JCW stuff.

To answer the last couple of questions...Jim did the buttons in black for me. They had been silver, like the steering wheel inserts themselves. He did the CF work, painted the buttons black and clear coated the whole thing.

Turn around was a little over a week for the steering wheel inserts and the same for the dash panels. The resin needs to cure fully before it can be polished and clear coated. Add a few days for shipping on both ends and you're disassembled for about 2 weeks for each. Remember this is a CF overlay, so you ship your parts to him to be overlayed with CF. I pulled the steering wheel inserts on Jan 1. I had everything all back together by Jan 30.

Keep us posted on how those steering wheel buttons hold up. Mine are so worn Im pretty sure that if I painted it they'd be silver again within a month lol.

I really like the dash. I dont usually like glossy CF on interiors but it works well here.

Thanks for the nice post Paul, the pictures are great.

One note on the buttons; they are painted black and then have a few coats of auto grade clear on top to help hold up to use.

Yes, it's a standard 2k urethane clear as used on the exterior, resin in the carbon is also UV stable.

More answers...
Jirsty, yes he does stuff through the mail.
I coordinated with Jim via email before sending my parts to him. In my case we decided to break it into 2 phases. We worked out a schedule so it fit into his work and frankly he kicked butt getting it all back to me.

newbs49, I think the automotive clear has a UV protector in it. You'll have to ask Jim to get the definitive answer, he's quite good about answering his email.

Great parts Paul!
Jim has done all my carbon work, multi function wheel, dash, down tubes...
He does great work but the only problem with that is he's always busy, guess that's good for him though.
Thanks for sharing the pix.
