Just JCW side skirts for Cobalt!
I have wanted to add just the JCW side skirts to my MINI for the longest time! It took a bit of work but I finally was able to have the dealer order me just the side skirts without having to buy the entire JCW body kit. They were put on just this month and I am really happy with how they change the look of the car while keeping it unique!

Thanks! All told, it was about $1,750 for parts, painting and installation. I dont recall what percentage of that was labor but I am sure you could save a good chunk of change if you installed them yourself. Since I am not very good with that sort of thing I was fine with paying to have the dealer do it for me.

you can even order the kit pre painted from here http://www.minigenuineparts.co.uk/mi..._Bodykits.html ships to the US too
I just checked out this site and they do not offer them w/factory paint anymore--this little blurb was there: These bodykits are no longer available as a factory painted option, only supplied in primer.
I do like the look of the aero kit, tho ... that Clubbie is gorgeous!

Well I just received my 2010 MCS Last Wednesday and I had ordered the side skirts separately. My dealer gave me a great deal on them and even said it cost them more to paint than originally quoted but still sold them to me at the same price. I have the passengers side on and just picked up the missing clips to install the drivers side yesterday. So it should be done by the weekend. I paid 630.00 for the skirts including paint. Keep in mind I bought a new car as well at the same time so they gave me a smokin deal.

Wow, they said it costs 400 to paint them? I thought 100 sounded right, but 400? Those aren't that big. I'll have to look into this, I'm really hoping to do this soon.

They brought this up when I was negotiating the trade in value of my 08 so I think they fudged the numbers a bit.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I figured this was the best place to ask...
When you all were changing out the stock side skirts to the JCW aero ones, were these parts needed? 51710413259 51710413260
They are referenced here. Called the JCW adapter for side sill. Or does the original one mate up properly?

I finally have gotten my MINI back from paint and got around to installing the side skirts/rocker panels/ground effects/aero... you get the idea.
These can be installed without the adapter plates. However, I would not recommend it. The bottom of the side skirts have 5 expanding rivets on each side that need to attach the two together. You can install them only using the clips that laterally press into the body, but it wouldn't be a solid fitment. The adapter plate takes up the gap between the body and the lower skirt.
I didn't order the kit from a dealer, so I have no idea if it comes with these or not. I was lucky enough to find my set from a salvage yard.
