Actually yes!! The first stage in which we took the old aero skirts off and fitted the new r56 skirts on went really well. The only problem(if you want to call it a problem) is that the r56 flares are wider than the r53. So, we decided, lets paint the skirts, fit and install them this week, and if the difference in width is too much, then we would sand down a portion of the flare and paint it body colour in order to make the flare appear the same size. A few minor trims were needed in the door sill section, and since the r56 had more plastic clips then the r53, we just cut them off. Other then that lenght and depth were bang on...
There were several little problems that we had to deal with.
First, the door sills needed some small trimming in order to sit right.
2nd, the only plastic tabs that alligned perfectly were the ones on the door sills. Most of the other ones, did not allign, so we had to secure them using metal rivets (I beleive that's what they are called).
3rd, the top lip of the skirt that goes underneath the door was thicker than the original skirt, so we had to shave that down to size.
All in all, if you have a good autobody guy, it can be done. Just takes a little time and effort.
Do the twin scoops have a grill inside of them? or does it fit over the existing scoops? Your car looks great!
the scoops have tiny metal mesh grills in them and you pop out your old oem plastic grills and replace them with these easy to do just fiddly. thanks! she nearly how i want her to look just need some more money now
How much are the R56 side skirts?
in UK they about 200 quid or cheaper if you find some going second hand but they hard to find second hand.
Also, is that the aero front bumper or something different?
its a standard s bumper with a trim i got off ebay not sure if the seller still has any left he did have a limited supply last time i checked.
PS Is it a lot of work to do that steering wheel relocation mod?

The aero side skirts for 1 gen and 2nd gen share exact same parts you can't see. If you want to add R56 side skirts to R53 you need get the aero mounting sill adaptors and then all mounting points under the car will match up. Trimming will be required for kick plate area due to slight differences in door sill ends.
Get door sill adaptors right and left side about $31.00 per side.
Part no # 51 71 0 413 260
Part no # 51 71 0 413 259
Then will just need the standard hardware for aero kit installation for R53, runs about 30 dollars a side for clips and hardware.
Late to the game, but this thread really helped! With the adapters, everything snaps into place no problem. There's really nothing you can do about the fender trim not being as wide, but IMO doesn't really matter.
Just an update those 2 parts are now NLA from MINI 51710413260 51710413259 and only available at ECS now in aftermarket! Linked above. We just landed more stock.
