Thanks for all the opinions everyone, I'm not sure if I'll try putting them on myself or let the dealer do it but I appreciate everyone's input! Now I just need to find a MINI club in Ohio!
Glad I could help bulldoggirl, thank you for the nice comment as well. Molly is SPOILED...as well she should be...next comes Window Tinting!! I ordered Molly on my Birthday Feb. 08, so this will be my Birthday Present, but it will make her just a little bit more YOUified (as I call it)!!

I wish someone would make some R56 replacement side fenders with either the R53 vent or something that is, or at least looks functional. The R56 ones look like the crap you get from Pep Boys. What's behind these panels anyway???

You can start looking here: NAM MidWest MINI Clubs

I noticed clubs for Cinncy, Mid-Ohio, and NE Ohio. I'm sure any of these clubs will have members that will be more than happy to help with a side-scuttle install.

Are you talking about the side scuttles? Just replace them with the Cooper ones, it's much cleaner looking (and cheap).

Great idea. I just found a new pair on Ebay for $20. Sold!

The "chrome" plastic S scuttles really are cheap crap. Black plastic at least isn't masquerading to be a shiny metal when it ain't. And I think they look much better.

Yeah, plus it makes them blend in rather than stick out like a sore thumb.

If you haven't I would do it myself. I pulled mine off today to check my repeaters on the side today because the light warning went off. Did it in the parking lot with no tools. Took me a minute or two to do it.

No thanks. I want something thats built in, not added on. Something like an Astin martin or just the R53 ones. Or even like some of the new jaguars, with the vent running vertically down the panel. If I ever have some time and cash to spare I might look at grafting something in there. All depends on what is behind the panel I guess.

I might do up some photoshop ones and see what you guys think.

Okay, as I've been looking for JCW "Chrome" style side scuttles, i've found that there are also JCW "Mesh" style side scuttles.

My question:
What JCW's came stock w/ the Chrome style? and which came stock with the Mesh style?

If someone could enlighten me on this I'd much appreciate it.

Here are links to the two styles:
Chrome:

Something like this would be sweet. It's the side vent from a Pontiac G8 and the Gt badge from a Mustang.

It's really self-explanatory once you removed the side scuttles.
Pop the side scuttles out. Disconnect the wires. The lights are clipped onto the housing so all you gotta do is squeeze the inner clips and it will pops out. I hope this help

simply push the whole housing forward towards the body line gap and pull outward...the housing will pop off and allow you disconnect the light...
