I recently bought the chrome side vent grilles from Moss Mini. They look great, the only problem is that they keep popping off when I'm driving. It's become a big pain in the butt. Installation was fairly simple... pop the old vent out, pop in the new. I made sure it snapped in and everything. Has anyone had this problem before and does anyone suggest a fix or is this just a product defect? I'm attaching a pic of the side vents...

The plastic grommet that the front of the grill snaps into may be positioned too far away from the grill mount preventing a complete connection. Try this...when pushing the grill into the grommet place counter pressure on the opposite end (the end inside the fender) this should ensure a tight fit. I had the same problem with my grill popping out doing this solved it.

Worst case, get a new grommet from the dealer.

Good Luck,

I used a little clear sillicone gel. I know that removing them now will likely break them, but mine no longer pop out.

I used retroom's counter-pressure method and it worked fine. The grommet is on a bendable metal tab. Be aware, though that if you bend the metal tab too far towards the outside of the car, then your grill will stick out, with a gap between its edge and the car body.

Yeah, you don't want to bend the metal. I'm glad it worked for you.

... I should have added that when I did get this "gap" problem, it was a simple fix to just bend the metal tab again, back away from the outside of the car.
