Next blackout step

The Interior.

i want to pull the door off of the secret compartment, the same spot right at the top of the steering column, and also the saem pattern on the doors(I'm not sure what it is called) Pretty much all that silver checked stuff on my interior and paint it black. Does anyone have a write up on how to pull off all of these parts. I'm not so much worried about the secret compartment panel that's the easy one. it's the doors and steering colomn that I'm having trouble with.

I had to remove the gauge cluster piece this weekend to install my new driving lamps.

It simply snaps into place, you can just pull it off. I believe there are three interfaces, one on each side, one in the middle. You do have to pull pretty hard.

Not sure about the door pieces.

Some find it easier to unscrew the tach to get better access. Then just pull it off.

When your paint job goes horribly wrong, you can buy replacement parts through AutoXCooper, Pelican Parts, or ECS Tuning. Get the part numbers from RealOEM.com.

Aren't those textured? Why not just get some used Piano Black trim pieces?

+1. I was thinking of painting them for a minute too, but vinyl would be much more practical. Probably last longer too.

Maybe I'll wrap them. First thing is getting them off. The door is going to be tricky. The next nice day here in CT I'll figure it out. Come on nice weather on Wednesday.

Ive tossed around the idea of getting something different than my piano black, but so far the only thing id probably replace it with is Carbon fiber...

I would like to wrap my door trim as well. If anyone finds an easy way to do it, please share. Removing the trim from the door requires a set of new fasteners, I think.

Good luck Will.

There is a fellow CT owner upstate that painted his and it came out awesome, even til this day. His name is Kevin and he changed his from stock to black and yellow to match the mellow yellow and black roof. I'll try and get his username so you can give him a PM for help.

Getting the replacement pieces would be ideal however, and probably easier. Ask Lyle as well, maybe he can wrap them for you for less.

Good luck!
