If engine temp is always such an issue with mini's, wouldnt getting one with extra "holes" in it be a good fix? I mean like the Honda-ish hoods that have all the crazy looking scoops on it.

Was just thinking this could be a fix vs getting intercoolers etc?

 

I dont think it would really col the air going into the engine.. thats what the IC is doing. but the louvers in the hood could be great for venting heat. Some people have done it. I saw go for it...

 

if you happen to do a lot of stop and go driving then the hood vent would really help
