I still liked some of my chrome accents to keep it looking a little stock...but I couldn't resist the black touches like the wheels, exhaust and custom badges. I also custom painted the grills in the side scuttles black and took a tip from Malcon and put on the voltage fog lamp blackout. If carbon fiber weren't so addictive I am sure those parts would be black as well...do they have a program for addicts like me, maybe Carbon Fiber Anonymous or something?

Also, if anyone bought a roll of the low-gloss 3M tape (#72793) and has enough left over to do another belt-line, I will buy it off you!

Here are a few quick pics of the blacked out parts. I had to take them in the garage since it is so windy here still, and the pollen is absolutely out of control!

And while I was at it, I changed out the red "S"s to green.

I also tinted the side reflectors and tail lights but it got too dark to get any pics, will get some tomorrow I hope.

My blackout was posted so long ago but I love the black on the side panel and am thinking of adding that to my car. I was going to post that I was "stealing" your idea but that seems in poor taste now.

does anyone have any DIY's on black out mods for grill, door handles, emblem, joey mod's, etc... I keep reading that people are doing them in 5, 6 minutes, but I don't even know where to begin. I'm such a wussy when it comes to auto work. Just want to do it right

For most things it's just masking stuff with tape and spraying plastidip ( 3-4 coats usually do the trick)! Or using vinyl! For the door handles I got the Aesthetic Creations covers, fit very well and since the handles are something often used, plastidip wouldn't last very long!

Joey's mods imply a bit more work since you have to take the lights apart! But there's a lot of infos about it!

I guess I'm just going to have to man-up. Thinking about those door handles... I just put on the black waist-line kit with my bro. i'm pretty satisfied with the look:
