Anyone see the February edition of Modern MINI? a guy had the floor of his trunk raised to put a sound system in. I like the idea anyone have any information on it? I'll try and post pictures later.

Fast Mini has a cool 12" speaker box you can put in your trunk. I'm thinking of going this route. Check it out: http://www.fastmini.net/rosubox.html

yeah that's pretty cool. the one in the magazine was def. a custom job the speakers were a little lower then the false floor, and they had plexiglass over them and on the cover was the MINI logo they were really awesome. I'm still in class but i'll upload a picture when i get back to my dorm. i also want to over haul the speakers that all ready came with my MINI, i went for the upgraded speakers and blew a tweeter and a sub. I need to control my boom boom.

I see you're in Jax, I am as well...if you need help with your set up or even how to get to a lot of that let me know...

I've replaced all speakers, am running a RF 3sixty.2 and a huge JL amp, it's really not that bad of an install once you figure out what you're doing

sound advice there across from Regency will give you quotes on boxes and what not...I just used the box from 1fastmini and am currently cleaning up the install with the rear seat delete from Helix...I'll post pics when I have it done...right now it looks like garbage (the rear that is everything in the doors/passenger 6X9s look stock).

I've never had an updated sound system in a car, but I'm thinking about doing that for my MINI. Is the difference mind-blowing if updating to some decent speakers? The speakers are starting to show their cheapness.... I'm just not satisfied anymore. I'm a picky MINI owner!

I need some speakers that can handle the stress i put them under, music turned all the way up varying genres ever couple songs, I've blown a tweeter and what ever the upper one is on the door, on the passenger side of my car. tweeter went while listening to revolution by The Beatles, from the album Past Masters volume 2

6x9s aren't typically low bass response speakers so these are neat, they go into the 35Hz range and will handle up to 125 watts RMS, the magnet won't be huge so the sound won't be what some expect, but for the interior design of the mini it should offer plenty of thump in the boot, get an amp to bridge it down into 4ohms x 2 channels and enjoy I would think.
