Quite a few threads on the forum about blacking the chrome off. Basically you have a few choices. These include vinyl, plasti dip or getting them painted professionally. Which parts are you trying to take off?

If you want matte black, I hear plasti-dip is the way to go. So far, glossy has to be either painted professionally or you have to use vinyl. I might have another option for glossy black soon. I'll be experimenting as soon as the weather gets nice. I'll let you know when it goes down.

For the chrome beltline you'll want some of this.

There are lots of good threads with DIY's on doing stuff like Joey Mods and such. Just look around.

Just search "blacked-out," "murder," "black MINI...."

Tons of people are doing this. Looks good on some colours, especially Pepper White....

Not that I'm biased or anything...

Yeah your right, TONS of people are doing it.

Btw i would go with the blackout beltline from Lyle's vhynl styles. Its better quality than the outmotoring one, although its matte not glossy.

Toss up really. Vinyl is easily replaced if damaged but otherwise they should both hold fine in regular day to day use.
