Find the parts on www.realoem.com then either go to your dealer or use www.pelicanparts.com to order.

Warning: the headlight assembly, ignitor, and separate xenon bulb will probably run you around $800 per side.

What is the quality on the $250 eBay lights? Sounds kind of iffy.... I've seen some blinding eBay shows driving around town at night, and while they are super bright, they hardly light the cars up in front of them.

But good luck to you! Hopefully they are quality pieces!

If they don't I'm sure they will. It took a while for R53 xenons to come out.

I actually e-mailed realoem.com yesterday, and the xenon headlight assembly for a R56 costs roughly $650 for each side. It's crazy. I really wish I would have just gotten them factory. I am really disappointed that I didn't.

On Ebay it is Just the Factory Ballast And Bulb Not the hole kit. You still have to buy the headlight for both sides because it will not work unless you have the HID Headlight. So you Can buy the headlight for about 450 for each side so for both sides it would be about $1200 so its more than double to convert it than it would have been to do it from the factory.

Yup. Another tale of "halogen regret," a common NAM theme. Have U investigated to possibility of installing brighter halogen bulbs instead of retrofitting?

Yeah, I just ordered a set of PIAA Xtreme White Plus bulbs. I wish they had the same bulbs for the fog light bulbs though. I was thinking about doing a HID mid for the fogs, but have no idea how to.

Yea i had installed a brighter xenon halogen bulb and it doesnt really make a hole lot of difference. You can notice that it is brighter than the stock bulb but no where near the brightness of the HID. They are 2 totally different styes of light that you can't match with a halogen bulb which sucks.

Yeah, I figured that, but brighter than stock is fine. I'm just wondering this. If I do a HID kit for the fog lights, if those would be bright enough to light up things. That may be wrong thinking though.

Remember, that with the cheapie ebay kits, a plug and play kit will never be like a factory xenon setup. You are putting in an HID bulb in a housing made for a halogen. This results in hotspots, diffuse light and is usually dimmer than stock. no cutoff. Also not street legal. If you are wanting xenon's thoe best way is to do a retrofit where you modify your existing housing to put projectors in or finding factory parts. If you really want more info on the in's and outs of plug and play HID, go to HIDplanet.com and research their forums. best info I have found on the internet for HID retrofit.

Sorry to revisit an old subject, but my question is a bit different. I have an '08 MINI S, ordered it with the sport package (and most other options). The sport package listed the xenons as part of the package, but the dealer told me that information was incorrect, that xenons weren't included in the sport package. When I break out the cost of xenons & the sport package, I think I mighta got taken. Did others who ordered the sport package (or another package) get the xenons with this package? I'm about to pull the trigger on a dealer retrofit, but would hate to have pay for it when I shoulda got it in the package in the first place. Thanks for any replies.

I have an 03S and my pass. side xenon needs to be replaced. I was thinking of retrofitting a pair of ebay halogens using my xenon headlights. The cost is waaaaayyyy cheaper this way. The ebay halogens run about $350 (+/- $100) and a new xenon runs $600. Is this possible? I have seen a lot of info floating out there on retrofitting halogens to xenons but now I have concerns about ebay headlights.

I know they weren't part of the sport package for 2010, but can't be sure if that changed since 08...
