it is just me, or do our wipers block to view of the road directly in front of the car?? I had a M3 beofre, and loved the way that you could look down in front, and literally not see the hood, wipers etc? Is there an aftermarket option?

raise the seat up?

not sure how much more low profile you can get. I know some of he wipers have some sort of guard over the front.. maybe take those off... but for the most part i haven't herd of these.

I wish the wipers folded into the cowl! that would be cool!

There is nowhere for the wipers to tuck out of the way. Bosch Icons maybe the closest you can get to what you want.

So....you can't see out because the bonnet is so big?

I have to lean way forward to see the top of my bonnet.
I do know what you are talking about though. The wipers do stick out a bit, I am 6'2", so it never really bothered me.

Your driver's side wiper has a flange for air pressure to keep the wiper against the windshield. When replacing, I decided on Rain X which did not have the flange. They clean the windshield very well and at 5'7" I do not have a vision problem.

My height isnt the problem. While Im 5-9, i sit with the seat all the way down . As Malcon mentioned, it would have been cool for them to disappear under the cowl......anyway it's not a blocking vision issue, more of a personal preference. Thanks, I look into Bosch and Rain X options

????

Sound like to me you are talking about the WHOLE wiper arm ?

No, not that I am aware of. I suppose I would attack this project with the purchase of a pair of some OEM used wiper arms and begin fabricating an offset arm which was lower to the hood when in the off position. But somehow you would have to re-set the motor stops to allow the wiper to complete a full sweep of the windscreen.....

Seems like an awful lot of trouble though.

Back in the day of modding Vans, some made fiber glass cowls which the wipers arms were hidden behind when off, which were molded into the oem sheet metal and painted same color as rest of car. Gave a cleaner look.

Same was done for door handles as well.....you would have to reach up and under/inside the fabricated "hood" which covered the entire door handle. They were also usually painted same color as body of the vehicle. This was all before shaving became popular in the 90's.

I'm 5'7" so I popped off the drivers side wiper arm and moved it down/rotated it 1 spline! Doing that made my vision much butter!

The Bosch Icons definitely clean up the appearance of the wipers and make them less noticeable. That's what I've been running for quite a while now.

I was looking at the Icons but couldn't find which size fits the MINI. Anyone have the wiper numbers?

Correct - though a few folks (including me) run 17" on the passenger side to reduce the overhang of the outside tip.

I just bought a pair of Trico blades and they are incredible. Just my 2 cents.

I use the wipers as a gauge to know where my right tires are and how far over I can go, for cones or curbs.
