Yes, it's the dew that often ristricts vision more than rain, especially if you like to run your A/C on the cold side.

My last car, used the electric grid in the rear window, but wiper is better

Threads on NAM, (probably Interior/Exterior Board) about removing 'Cooper' tag with dental floss

ive been lookin around the r56 thread and cant find proper instructions (with pictures)

anyone know how to remove the interior boot hatch thingy? there are two torx screws that i unscrewed but i feel that there are pins inside keeping it in place. do i just pull hard?

any tips on how to dismantle the actual wiper and motor?

The wiper is the tricky part.
I just kinda played with it back n forth and it finally gave way and came right off. Mine was only in the elements for about 3mos. so the degree of difficulty will vary. A little wd40 was used.
The motor was pretty straight forward...3 bolts I believe...disconnect the electrical hookup...disconnect water hose and plug it. Cap n reinstall.
Sorry no pics.......GoodLuck!

ps..I did opt for a kit from vip..so I didn't have to glue the new cap on.

Plug with back-up camera?

I got this new back-up cam, and I'm thinking it would make a great rear-wiper delete mod. The wiring comes out the end of the threaded 6mm screw. I'll let y'all know how it works out hopefully this weekend.

Love the looks of the shaved rear wiper, but prefer the functionality / safety of having it. Looks good - to each his own...

Nice. I've always toyed with that idea but never got around to figuring out where i would put the screen. I look forward to seeing your outcome. Good luck

maybe i'll install mini-wipers for my back-up camera lens. seriously, though, water on back-up cameras during the rain has not been a problem for me. that way, i hope to get the looks and still have visibility. also, i wouldn't need to drill any new holes for the camera wiring.

Above pretty much sums it up.
As a NOVICE I also found removing the tailgate trim challenging.

I would like to THANK this board for being here and for all the kind posters willing to share info. With all the many opinions and pov's it's really a treat to have access!
Wow, that looks great! I think I'll add this to my list of stuff to do.

Did mine last night...easy to do. The bigest issue was the wiper arm removal. I sprayed some WD40 and used a hard rubber hammer, hitting it at the base and pulling at the same time and off she came. Everything else was easy. Bought a black headset washer and made a rubber groumet for the inside of the glass. Came out great...love the clean look. Sorry for the poor pic batteries are low and the flash would not come on.

That looks great. Do you mind if I ask for pics of what you're using for a screen?

Thanks,

Mark

PS. Where did you get the camera?

i got the Power Acoutik CCD-5XS from amazon.com (not the best price but easier to return and exchange from them if i run into problems). i've upgraded my old 3.5" monitor i had in the center cubby to a new carpc touchscreen via masochistic diy fabrication in the center console.

Removed the pollen and dirt collector yesterday. That wiper arm was a royal PIA even with lots of WD-40 and a puller.

I made one last week out of my bike headset. I had already ordered one from a NAMer but it took so long to get I found the thread about the custom job so I did that. I'll take so pics of my custom job and the extra plastic one I have as soon as I charge some batteries. If someone wants it I have $16 in it shipped

There are plastic caps in the screw/hardware isle in Lowe's. There's a full drawer in there and they just snap right in. I forget the exact size
