different look

has anybody tried painting the area of the bumper between the upper and lower grill black?
i saw a pic on mini2 forum but can't find it now.
it looks kinda like the audi shape on the front.

Not a half bad idea, particularly with the aero grills. If you find the post, I'd like to see it too.

it was likew that drawing but i thin the area above the lowest grill was done as well.
i've done some more searching but still cant find it. it did look cool though

How about like this...

Cut out part of the center grill to allow more airflow



When painting the bumper cover the rest of the uncut area was painted black, sorry no pictures except after assembly.

Attention to detail by painting the actual bumper so it did not show through the grill.



However, that was chipping off after a few track days. During a repaint the bumper was powder coated black. That has proven to work much better.

Before attention to the details...



After ..with a few other little mods as well...



I think these little things make a huge difference.

I have seen something like that before, but instead of painting it, you could use vinyl, so if you get tired of that look you can take it off easily. Works better with the aero grills in my opinion.
