Does it stay on while you drive, or is it only when unlocking the door to enter the car?

Theres a kit over in the UK that does this

http://www.newministuff.com/new/shop...uctshow&id=360.

If this is a one-off, awesome job! Interested in how you managed to pull this off.

all connections are heat-shrinked, the whole in the handle is drilled out exactly the size of the led, and i took it to the car wash and no problems!

Note that the newministuff price is 'fitted' - 'installed' in American speak.
That makes a bit more sense. It also includes a retrofit puddle light.

also i have filed the l.e.d.s down a bit to make them flat on the top so it would make more of a glow, than a direct beam. you cant see it very well in the picture but i could notice it up close.

I did this mod on one of my doors and was unhappy with the result. Thanks for this tip on filing down the face so there is not a bright spot.

I will try this tomorrow and see if it changes my attitude to this mod. it probably will as this will eliminate the spot effect.

Did you have to take your door handle off?

OT, nice avatar Red Bull.

I hate this site now. All it does for me is take my money for new mods.

Yes you do have to take your door handle off, and it only cost about $1.50 for the leds and for the wire.... i "borrowed" that from one of my electrical classes

When you're done 'borrowing' it, will it be returned with the LED still attached, or like Mary's Little Lambs, do you think it will have a problem finding its way home?
