Interior/Exterior Shift Lever Threading; Seat Re-Upholstering
Shift Lever Threading; Seat Re-Upholstering
Hey guys,
#1 Anyone know if there is an adapter to be able to go from the stock "clip" mount for the shift **** to a threaded mount? I'd really prefer to go to Craven's shift **** (that R8 look is killer), but retain the stock shifting setup...no reason to shell out for a SSK if all I'm after is the mounting capacity. That, or has anyone cut off and threaded the stock shifter stalk to get the same effect?
#2 Anyone have experience with re-upholstering/adding better bolsters to the stock seats? I've searched all over these boards and found next to nothing. My goal is to get close to the support of the Euro JCW seats, add a little breathability (switching either to cloth or a perforated leatherette in areas), all while keeping the stock seat airbags. Just wondering if anyone has had similar work done; trying to get an idea of pricing (does it end up costing the same as the JCW) or any other issues one may run across. For reference, I'd only bother doing the front two seats.
Thanks in advance,
- Matt

Thanks for the reply. I knew I had seen and forgotten those threads. Nice to have an idea of what it should cost going in, see if I'm getting gouged or not.
I got in touch with Doug Whalen about his adapter...unfortunately, it's a non-standard (i.e. not metric) size and threading.
I may pick up a die kit and do it myself.
