I'm thinking about mounting my StreetPilot onto my tach. My only concern is the weight. Is it possible to damage anything with the added weight?...hitting pumps and all? Just looking for other MINI owners' thoughts.

I have my GPS mounted on the back of my Tach. I had the idea, a friend built it for me. I just took the below pics a few mins ago, but have had it setup for 9 months without any issues.

We removed the tach, took it apart and found on the inside back cover there is space for very small screw heads. We drilled 4 of them. The steel piece is bent greater than 90 degrees to not rub on dash. Before putting the tach back together, we bolt the steel on. Then I drilled a small hole in the GPS part to run zip ties to secure it altogether. Then added a sticky felt pad to the bottom of GPS where it rests on top of tach. I hope this plus the pics helps. I'm sure it could be done better and look forward to seeing how others make/did it better. I'm very happy with the setup, I can use my GPS without taking my hands off the wheel or looking away from the road. Be sure to set the dimmer to very low at night too.
