harness mounting question

i have a sparco evo on brey krause mounts and im looking to install a 6point harness. i have figured out how to mount the sub straps and lap belt but cant decide how to secure the sholder straps. if the back seats are removed, would it be possible to mount them to a rear interrior brace? thanks

Best way to do it is to go to a pro race shop and have them do it. Simple things like mounting angles can make the difference between a really great harness setup and a deathtrap.

You need at least a harness bar, preferable a rollbar.

Are you tracking the car? Is this setup for everyday, track or auto-x?

The only way to angles correct on the shoulder is to use a harness or roll bar with a harness bar. No cheap way out of this. Local guy to me here in Dallas had a harness bar for sale, not sure if he still has it. See http://www.metroplexmini.org/forum/s...ad.php?t=23873

It's best to get a pro shop to make one for you. It will fit, work, and not kill you. Also, check with the rule book for whatever class you plan on racing in and make sure you follow the mounting requirements they have.

Have you thought about doing this from Brey-Krause: http://www.bkauto.com/mini/r1305.php? My Autopower roll bar is going in shortly with harnesses, but that's just because I'm shooting for a certain look, otherwise this is what I would've gone with. My car will never see the light of day on a race track.

I haven't seen any of the harness bars in person, so I cannot recommend any one over another.
