Off to a good start! Was trying to guess if it looked more 3 or 7, I should've know it was going to be a 5-series

Looks beautiful. If I made one myself, I might not go with black annodize...after a while the UV may turn the color. Maybe a glossy black paint (like lacquer) would blend best with the black roof...my $0.02.

A separate question, what's the thread for R56? I'm told is different than the R53.

I just put some Etching Primer on it (paint will not adhere to aluminum)
And used Gloss Black Rustoleum Professional.
We'll see how it turns out.

Ive never really seen much of a problem with Anodize+sun though.

The thread used for the R56 is M6x1.0, and I bet the R53 is the same.

It may take a long time with normal sunlight intensities...not sure. But, I can tell you from experience that short wavelength light will bleach annodize out. A hard annodize might last a little longer.

I see the commercial vendors use Ano. Of course you live in a Sun belt and would probably have more practical experince with bleaching than say, New England.

Don't Quote me on this, but...

Since this is not a commercial venture, and more of a "Hey look what I made" thread I'm not sure how the owners of NAM would like sales being made. I did see that they are talking about them at NEMINI http://nemini.org/index.php?topic=11100.0
