Rain gutter trim

Don't know what it's called. The black plastic trim that keeps water from rolling off the roof and into the car.

I had my bike roof rack with bike and drove into my garage . The bike was fine, but the rack was ripped off the roof and took the black trim with it. How do i replace it? Is it something I can do without any special tools? Anybody know what it's called? I have a 04 Mini S

not sure

i dont know if this helps but if your local mini dealership has any sort of decent parts guy he will be able to give you a price on a new one. i have never had mine off but i would guess it is either a pressure fit / clips / or 2 sided automotive tape of some sorts. in any manner it shouldnt be hard to do.
sorry i couldnt be more help but when you figure it out exactly, let us all know how its done

I think it's called trim roof molding or something. I can't remember. Its not obvious in the part book.

To removed/replace:
-open the door and pull the weather stripping (try middle of the door closest to the B pillar) and gently pulled it all the way around the top to the A pilar and a little further
-remove 4 or 5 screws holding it
-pull on the molding (hard) it will bend and be useless afterwards, but you're replacing it anyway. There are pressure clips that hold it above the rear window
-install new one: start my lining the back up and jam the new one in onto the clips above the rear window, continue all the way to the front, snap in the front corner piece (you will have to order a clip for your new molding, i fabricated one from something i already had)
-reinstall screws
-slid weather stripping back into place and make sure it's seated right.

Hope that helps
