Remove MINI logo (front and rear)?

Hi,

Does anyone know how to remove the front and rear MINI badge?

- Is it only held by dubble sided tape?
- What's the best wat to centre the badge when putting it back on?
- I read there are some pins sticking out, is this on both badge (front and back).
-How many pins are there?
- Whats the best way to remove it? Heating it first?

Thanks

Maaij

There's double-sided tape, and two pins on each one. I just removed mine yesterday - use fishing line to "saw" back and forth through the adhesive all the way around, and then use some Goo Gone or alcohol to clean up the residue (I used both). The two pins center it so you don't have to worry about that.

Heat will help the adhesive clean up more easily, but is not necessary. My bonnet was hot when I did the front and it did come up easier than the rear, which was cold, but each one took maybe a minute to remove and then another 5-10 minutes to clean up the adhesive.

I'm just going to throw this out there, since I do on all of these threads....

wax when you're done removal! Goo-gone and other similar products will strip wax from your car and leave your paint un-protected. You'll get an odd fade pattern if left un-waxed for a long period of time.

Yes, pins on both front and back UNLESS you have a clubman, which has no pins or holes on the back wings.

So with the pins, does that mean there are holes underneath the badges, or will it look fine completely unbadged?

There are holes underneath the Wings badges and those would need to be welded and smoothed to look alright with the panels debadged.

correct, cooper S letters can be removed and look like they were never there once you remove adhesive.
