Well,

Here goes

I kept on getting scratches on the inner handle of both doors due to constant use.
The sliver plastic is painted and the finish is...crappy/soft/chipped.... to say the least.

I have an idea !!!!!!!

Auto barn..is my next stop
I get one of those ..."covers that fits over the portion of your seatbelt that crosses over your chest...thingy
Whatyathink ????

Peace,
D

You're a smart cookie, Dennis. That's why we like like ya. Perhaps some of the more delicate aesthetic sensibilities on MCO will we daunted by your mod, but I like it. I've been trying to figure out something to do with those areas myself. They definitely scuff way too easily!

D,

I'll bet all those scratches were from unsuspecting passengers using the handle as a panic grab, as you rocketed around a hairpin curve in 2nd, with the tach bouncing off the rev limiter. Looks like a great solution, as the cloth should help absorb all that sweat from their palms as you continue to drive like Mario Andretti.

I would push the warrently, your car isn't more then 2 years old, this is not "normal" wear and tear.

Very nice idea Dennis. I originally was thinking of taking apart the door panel, re-spray the door pulls and then put a nice thick coat of lacquer for scracth protection. But I am shying away from doing it because it appears to be that the door panel is extremely difficult to take apart due to the way it was constructed.

Another idea would be to use Clearbra 3M transparent film paper material to pritect the door pulls from further scratches due to wear and tear.

I am so glad I am getting Anthracite trim on my '04 MCS as it appears to be of higher quality than the white silver standard trim.
