Removing (and re-attaching) fender flares

I've searched the general forum, as well as this forum, looking for instructions for, or at least a description of, the removal of the fender flares -- as in replacing them with painted units. What I've found is several other posters, over time, asking essentially the same question, which has never been answered, as far as I can see. A couple of people have indicated that it's a simple process, but haven't actually said what's involved. If I've missed it somewhere, I'd be delighted for someone to point me to it. Otherwise, when there's time, could somebody describe in as much detail as possible what the procedure is? I'd be very grateful; and, apparently, several other readers would, also. If you're up to the task and willing, thanks!

I just did this last week, it is simple but tedious. After you take the wheel off it's just amatter of removing a bunch of plastic screws and nuts to take off the wheel wells. The actual fenders are held on with plastic clips that you use a pair of pliers on them and squeeze. I broke a few on the first one but none after that. Just do one wheel at a time, once you get into it it goes quick.

Its pretty easy really, like BK said, remove the wheel then remove fender wells to get to the clips and nuts. What i did was to buy the 6 pieces new from Classic, they were like $70.00 and they came with all hardware.I then took them along with the bumpers and side skirts to my body/paint shop for painting. While they were being painted i removed my old ones,if i broke a clip,so what. When i got my pieces back from shop i installed the bumpers and new arches and sold the old ones here on Nam.

Go to MiniDoMore.com and open the PDF for installing their hitch on 2007 MCS MINIs; their hitch requires removal of the bumper cover, and fender flares must be partially removed to do the job ... photos and everything --

Grateful

Thanks to the four of you for responding to the question. Your verbal description and the pictorial illustrations made it possible for me to get a real feel for what's involved; and I'm now convinced that it's a viable DIY project. Again, thanks for your time in answering!
