Stripe Install Pics

I have finally got my stripes installed last weekend. Went pretty well, although quite time consuming.

I got the kit off of Ebay for less than $60.00 shipped from decalsgraphicsandmore
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...065818027&rd=1

I couldn't stomach the $100 plus range for the same vinyl from a company that markets specifically to mini customers. I know people, including me, are sketchy about ebay vendors but I am truly pleased with this guy - he is honest and has great customer service! I would recommend him to anyone looking.

Here are the pics.

Looks good
Did you do it all yourself? How long did it take you?
I plan on trying it myself after my MINI arrives and I make up my mind which kind of stripes I want.

The wheels are sport max's in a 18x7.5.

And I did the install myself, and it took about 5 hours. Long story, but it could have been faster. The damn antenna mast was the hard part, but once you get half of the rear interior out it is a breeze!

And get a heat gun - the 10-20 bucks will make it install ALOT easier than using a hair dryer. I have installed a fair bit of vinyl in the last few months, and the success is related to patience and that damn heat gun!!!

Great looking MCS!!

Sorry if its a silly question, but what exactly is involved in installing stripes? To me it doesn't seem like it should be that hard, but clearly I don't know what I'm talking about!

Oh, another question...what percent tint is that? I get my Astro Black/White MCS this weekend!

Thumper nice color choice and rare too. The tint looks like 20 percent to me. I'll post a picture of my AB/W MCS with 20 percent tint in my gallery so you can compare.

My tint is 20% - which is illegal in my state, however Cincinnati borders another state where it is legal which often times makes targeted equipment violations difficult to enforce for cops.

As far as installing the vinyl, if you have patience and understand how to heat the vinyl w/o scorching it you will have no problems. I am comfortabe enough now with it I know I could wrap my own trim pieces w/o any difficulties.

I have zero rubbing issues w/ my springs and the 18" wheels. The overall diameter is acutally a couple hundreths of an inch shorter than the OEM 17's. The offeset is a bit more which would likely help also.
