For me it was a combination of

1)Reducing heat transfer while ensuring that I could see out of the front windows, even at night, as this is my daily driver.

2) hoping that cops have better things to do with their time, or worse offenders to pull over and ticket.

3)the ability to show the cops that I'm not taking the p!ss and being reasonably intelligent with my choice to tint.

anyway you could get a straight side shot of the car during the day?...im getting my tints done this saturday and i am debating between 35% allt he way, 20% all the way, or 15% all the way.....
i think 20% will be good, but im curious to see i t from the side, if you can thatd help me out a lot....
im comingi from a car that had limo all the way around......

 

You'd be much better off seeing a car for real, if possible.

The darkness of the tint really does appear to change, depending on the surroundings. If I park in a shady area, nears a building or wall etc, the tint looks much darker than if you can see right through both sides of the car.

Yup - that's 20%. If you ask for that percentage, Hamid well tell you that it's illegal and you have to sign the work order that you've been warned, etc.

Have fun and tell Hamid that he came recommended. BTW, he has a nice waiting room, but there's a pretty good deli a block south on the same side of Van Nuys Blvd. Enjoy and post up some pics of the finished job.
