eBay Halo Headlights any good?

Are these headlights any good? Looking to replace my stock ones, non xenon ones, with something with a black housing and blue halo's and these look pretty promising. Although would i be able to xenon these?

I've heard rumors that these are NOT true xenons despite their appearance. If they are, they're definitely interesting. I'd like to see these actually installed and running on a few cars before shelling out the $ though... If you end up using them, be sure to document the installation process and what they end up looking like.

There was a thread about these lights last year. They are not Xenon HIDs from what I recall. They are halogen, and the main lamp is not the top one with the little dots surrounding the lens, but the inside lamp that looks like a halogen. I think the angel eye lamp might be the high beam. Do a search and see what emerges.
Notice that there are no photos of the Mini lamps shining in the eBay advertisement (!!!) A warning sign.
Check these out:

$50 cheaper and the photos show them lit.

the 2nd link is for a xenon pair. but it utilizes its own ballast and bulbs...which is probably some cheapo brand. Now if they made the headlights that are a direct plug and play, id be interested in that...i doubt these even self level?

someone with 400 dollars laying around, buy these and let us know how they work on xenon equipped MINIs

I received my projector lights last week. I haven't installed them yet because I've got to get rid of the hideous chrome ring surrounds first. The construction however is not that bad. It's not like the OEM ones, but it's decent. What's interesting is there is an extra bulb and the wiring is seperate from the connector that plugs into the OEM connector. I guess they mean for these wires to get spliced into the front turn signal wiring for turn signals in the housing. After reading someone elses install woes in another thread, I'll see how difficult it will be to put them into the bonnet holes. Wiring will be easy. Another thing I'm definitely going to do is get a clear protective cover for the lenses.

I doubt if they will self level just by looking at them. They do however have what appears to be an adjustment screw on them. I'm going to try and get these things on within the next week and a half. I'll post the results.

I have an 06 Mini. Do you know if they'd fit my car? And to clear some things up. Are these true xenons? They appear to be similar to OEM Xenons in terms of look but I do not see any bulb inside the lens. Do they expect you to put your halogen bulbs in there or do they come preequipped with xenon/hid bulbs. Just to clear some things up..

Yes, they will fit an '06 as there never was a change in the basic shape of the lights. And to clear things up, no they are not xenons. They are decorated to look like xenons, but in reality they are projecter headlights. Light output should be better than the stock halogens. Hope this helps.

The term "xenon" used in this context is incorrect. A xenon bulb refers to the gas used inside the light bulb instead of a traditional filament. The xenon gas inside the bulb is then ignited to produce a "High Intensity Discharge" which is why they are called H.I.Ds. The real question here is whether or not the housings come with Halogen Projectors or HID Projectors as the light beams differ somewhat. However, from my experience putting a Xenon bulb inside a halogen projector still produces a cutoff, though while not as clear-cut as a HID Projector there is minimal glare above the cutoff point.

Yes, I'm fully aware that HID bulbs use a xenon gas. All I have been trying to say is that these are standard halogen projector housings that are made to resemble HID housings. I'm not installing xenon bulbs in mine. My wife's 2000 Celica has stock halogen projectors, and they are nice. I'm guessing these eBAY lights will put out similar lighting. Plus you get that BMW family feel with the angel eyes. I'm still waiting to install them because I have popped off the outer rings for painting. I will be posting updates.

Sorry, when I get home tonight I'll take a look at the lights and see what I can do to help you. I just remember when I first recieved them, I noticed the adjustment screws, but never messed with them since I knew it would be a while before I mounted them.........I, like many others was under the impression that the outer rings were black. The chrome ones that came on them is just holding me up a little. Hopefully I can help you out when I check them out tonight.

I hear ya man. I guess at this point I know more than you because mine are fully installed. (They look great! ) I, too, plan on painting the rings black. Hopefully that will fix the fitment issue, too. (They don't fit perfectly in the hood opening like stock ones do, but not enough to bother me to return them...I think this is expected though.) I wonder if there's a way to get to the LED's in the halo because i'd like to color match them to the rest of the lights on my car.

i just bought some "xenon HID headlamp unit with 6000K bulbs." they claim to be xenon, with the conversion kit all pre-wired for a plug and play application. as soon as i install them, i'll put up some pics.

I wouldn't call it the "real deal". its basically no different than those annoying "HID" kits you find all over ebay that people shove in to stock reflective housing. you get bright lights with little to no cutoff with hotspots that blind drivers. If these were the real deal, I would have purchased them already and swapped my factor Xenons for this style.
