Shifter bushings

Does anyone know where I can buy shifter bushings like the ones that come with the B&M and Ebay short shift kits? I think my only option at this point is to buy an ebay one and cannabalize the kit for the bushings so I can run it with my craven. Thanks in advance

promini makes a shifter with the aluminum pivot joints....is there anyway we can convince them to sell the bushing kit?

There was a previous conversation about this and Craven Speed actually stepped in at one point and mentioned that if there was enough interest they could be swayed to make a run of them. So it might be worth your time to contact them and see what they say.

Well I talked to Craven and there would need to be a bit more interest and a bit more time so I went and dropped the dough on a cheapo ebay shifter that I will run the bushings from.

If I may ask, what benefit does one get from swapping out the bushings in the shifter?

It gets rid of a lot of the mushiness of the shifter. The stock setup has a rubber gasket running around the shift housing where it mounts up to the body of the car. With that gasket the housing has a tendency to move around slightly while shifting and manifests itself as a sort of spongy feel.

The solid bushing replace the rubber at the four corners of the housing and create a pretty solid mounting surface that doesn't tend to shift around nearly as much. They create a much more solid shift feeling.

Of course it's all a matter of preference and feel. Not everyone is going to notice the same thing. However, of all the people who have driven my car they all seem to like the feel of my B&M.

Since the '04-'05 kit was discontinued, could the bushings from the '02-'04 kit be put on my '05, or would they not fit?

My initial thought on the older bushings fitting the newer model would be that they would not work. The shifter housing was changed which is why there is a newer model of the short shifter.

yeah... that's what I figured. It looks like I'm stuck with my plastic bushings unless I can scrounge up a discontinued '05 B&M ssk. Or if we could get a list of enough people willing to purchase just the bushings, I'm sure that some distributer would want to take advantage of the demand for them.
